Herb Redl Properties, also known as HRP, was founded by Hudson Valley native Herbert Redl. Over the past 60 years, Herb Redl operations has grown into the commercial and retail real estate network it is today.
Born and raised in Poughkeepsie, Herb Redl first owned and operated a service station and automobile repair/body shop in 1949. Over time Herb’s goals grew, as did his business knowledge, and he began to purchase viable real estate thinking of commercial development and growth. Herb’s perseverance, business acumen and uncommon common sense enabled him to grow steadily over the years. Herb Redl has developed and owns over 1,000,000 square feet of retail, office, warehouse and storage space throughout Dutchess, Ulster and Orange Counties. His holdings include office buildings, shopping plazas and self-storage facilities. Due to his entrepreneurial nature, Herb was the first to develop an upscale concept of a manufactured home community in this area known as The Gables, which provides affordable housing. The family of Herb Redl properties rounds out with HHR Construction, Fun Central, Guardian Self Storage and All Sport Health and Fitness Club.
Herb’s appreciation and support of Dutchess County can be seen in many ways. He continues to serve on boards and donate financial support to his many interests which include, but are not limited to, The Relay for Life event for the American Cancer Society in which All Sport has hosted and raised over $750,000.00, Marist College, Vassar Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, The Bardavon Theater, The Community Foundation and the March of Dimes. He was also one of the founders of the Dutchess Community Economic External Marketing Council. As natives to the area, Herb and his wife Sue Ann have donated a 30 acre parcel of land to be developed into a park setting for all ages to use and enjoy.
The above are only a few of the areas that Herb has supported. Just look for a sports team shirt when you are at an event of one of our local businesses. You may not see his name but he can be recognized under Guardian Self Storage, AllSport or The Gables.
Herb has been married to his wife, Sue Ann (a Poughkeepsie native) since 1952, and they have raised four daughters: Kim Redl Lawrence, Kelley Redl-Hardisty, Kari Redl-Daniels and Kristi Redl, all of whom are now partners with Herb in his business ventures.
Kim, Kelley, Kari and Kristi have over 20 years of everyday experience running HRP Real Estate and handling the real estate leasing, rentals and sales, along with overseeing building management, tenant negotiations and daily operations. Having a direct hand in HRP's success and growth over the years, they continue to secure a steady line of highly regarded clients and occupants.
